Roads Children’s Classics
“ROADS is a contemporary and highly creative lifestyle brand based in Dublin, Ireland. The Group consists of three companies: ROADS Fragrances, ROADS Publishing and ROADS Entertainment. Founded by businesswoman and entrepreneur Danielle Ryan, the brand is built around the cornerstones of present-day culture, freethinking, storytelling, original design and intelligence. ROADS acts as a curator, researching and filtering interesting contemporary subject matters or themes. These themes then create the platform for each of our projects, be it a book, film or fragrance.”
ROADS are currently publishing a set of Children’s Classics. They asked me to provide illustrations for these well-known titles which has been a total dream-job. The first three titles to be published are The Jungle Book, The Happy Prince and Other Stories and The Secret Garden.
Here are some of the illustrations from the books.

Mindful Doodling
August 10, 2016
I have been a bit busy with new children and moving house alongside work during the last couple of years. Hence the late post regarding the publication of Mindful Doodling.

“Calling all fans of colouring in looking to take the next step. Every page of Mindful Doodling by Gwen Burns has something beautiful for you to finish however you like. Pattern your way to relaxation and improved concentration and create your own unique images.
As you move through the book, you’ll gradually find more and more space to express yourself until you’re confidently filling the page with your own designs.
Let go of the stress around you and discover the pleasure of mindful doodling.”
Here are some images from inside:
Here are some examples of how to use the images. Although you don’t have to colour them in.

The Letters Page
I had the pleasure of providing illustrations for issue 6 of The Letters Page.
“The Letters Page is a literary journal in letters, published by the School of English at the University of Nottingham and edited by Jon McGregor. We publish essays, stories, poetry, memoir, travelogue, and criticism; but all in the form of letters. We are interested in the literary traditions of letter-writing, and in the idea of correspondence in a digital age. We would love to hear from you”
